spray tan from sunbeds?

I have a pretty dress for new years, but seriously needs a tan .. I do not want to be all black, I just want a little color .. My legs were a few bruises and scars and I want to look nice. Do spray tan again go orange or does it improve? Further advice on making my legs look better?
