Why and how does anger stimulate the “sympathetic nervous system”?
btw, anyone can describe what the “sympathetic nervous system” is exactly?
why is it referred to like this? “sympathetic”?
Thanks for your answers!
The sympathetic nervous system is activated when the body percieves itself to be in danger and by any stimulus over an individual’s threshold, including feelings, noise, light, drugs and chemicals (e.g. caffeine).
I think it might be called the sympathetic nervous system because it sympathizes with stimuli by also becoming stimulated and alert. It is always active at a basal level and becomes more active during times of stress.
