When I change skin tone of sim in Sims 3 the faces go a different colour?

When I first go into Create a Sim their faces are normal, but I soon as I touch the bar to change their skin tone their faces go orange, white or black. You can see their eyebrows and facial features but their faces are a block colour! I spent $100 aus on this game and it’s not working!
Someone help!

It sounds like a graphics problem. The game is pretty brutal when it comes to system requirements. Did you check and make sure that your computer met the system requirements?

I would do that before crying foul on the software. Your system may not be able to run it correctly.
