Philosophy Question: When is it beneficial to discriminate against people?
Another ethics/philosophy question. I can not find the answer in the text. My gut says the answer is “never,” however I suspect this is a trick question. Any help out there from all my philosophy majors?
I’m not a philosophy major but sometimes it is beneficial to discriminate.
I know that you can argue that this is not discrimination, please don’t (:

We really need a kitchen re-model. How do I sign up to be on HGTV?
Hi everyone . Ok , We moved into our house about 5 years ago , and we have tackled almost every single problem the house had ( which was basically every single room) except the kitchen. Here are all the deign dilemmas:
1. its a 70′s kitchen
2.tan laminent flooring
3. white run down appliences
4.hole in the wall behind the key holder
5.the cabinets are practically falling off the hinges
6.tan laminent counter tops
7.metal molding around thos counter tops
8.brown/white/gold/tan blacksplash
9.wooden paneling all throught out.
10.terribley scratched up sliding glass door.
11.one section of counter top which has the dishwasher in it , actually separated from the wall and the other counter tops.
12. its small
13. enourmous lack of storage space.
14. lack of light
15. dated appliances.
I wanted to sign us up for ” Divine Design” if any of you have heard about it. But I visited the hgtv website and was exactly sure how. Can someone help :p?
There is a “contact us” feature on the site. I found it and dropped an e-mail to Candice Olson’s group regarding my great room asking about specifics and giving them a brief description of my design issue. They answered back stating that Candice charges a minimum of $2000 for the consult and then whatever your budget is for the renovation or re-do. But they still have to choose you. Your kitchen sounds like just the thing she likes to take on to make a good show. There is also a show on HGTV called Spice It Up Kitchens that you can register for. I have no idea if they have a minimum consult fee but they have worked with budgets from $25,000 to $65,000.

EDITORIAL: Connecticut bad state to do business
A few more court victories like the one temporarily saving the jobs of Pratt & Whitney workers and Connecticut will have sealed forever its reputation as one of the worst states in the union to do business.

My pores and blackheads!! Help!?
I use Nuetrogena Acne stress control to cleanse my face. I get some breakouts now and then and it really helps. But, i need to do something about my nose. I went to beauty school and we did facials. I squeeze my pores and i use my extractor for blackheads but they don’t seem to go away. any other advice?
I went to facial therapy school and the best way I was taught was extracting the blackheads. Also exfoliate, it will take some time but it will eventually clean them out. So stay will extrating and exfoliation and that should help you.
Also steam helps to open up the pores so it makes it easier to get rid of them. Steam for about 10 minutes if you can. If you don’t have a facial steamer use a washcloth

This Christmas, you should give the man of your dreams all of the romance you feel he deserves. A romantic holiday for him is an excellent present, even if your man does not always seem to be the most romantic guy in the bunch.
A common misconception is that men do not like romance. This is not true. Many men find the gesture of romance from the woman they are dating or their wife to be an intimately important part to maintaining a healthy relationship. This is why it is as important to romance him as it is for him to romance you.
What appeals to a man romantically really is no different then what appeals to woman. While you may not be out buying chocolates and flowers, you can purchase a nice outfit and look your best for him. You can purchase little trinkets such as male-oriented jewelry (watches, rings, a chain, etc.) and you can even plan a romantic evening for him.
Every man loves coming home after a long hard day of work and finding out that the woman he adores has prepared the ultimate romantic evening. The holiday season tacks on added stressors that make men and women alike more tense. Preparing a romantic evening for him is sure to make him happy as the stress of the holidays, work, money, and life in general melts away for both of you.
So Many Christmas Romance Ideas, So Little Time
It is understandable if you do not have an excessive amount of time to spend romancing him this Christmas. However, even the littlest gesture will be sure to make an impact. People these days are constantly on the go. It is only natural to feel like two passing ships in the night. However, this holiday, it is time to make a change for the betterment of your relationship.
You need to make a conscious effort to show him exactly how much he means to you this Christmas. Romancing him is not going to take forever, but the time spent will be well worth it for both of you.
Here are some tips you can use when romancing him this Christmas. You do not have to use all of the dating advice presented in the article. In fact, if you can come up with your own ideas, feel free to use them as well. Just remember, the goal is to make him happy and please him in the most romantic of ways.
Tip #1 Men Love Massages
You may be surprised to know just how much men truly love massages. The feel of your fingers as they kneed sore, overworked flesh while working out all the kinks in his back can actually relax him to the point of a heightened consciousness. His body will feel so alive, and may even be a prelude to some fun in the bedroom as a result.
There are many things you can use when massaging him this Christmas. You can choose from some of the best oils available on the market. There are electric massagers, which are designed for massaging all over his body. Additionally, you can use any type of massage wand or massage brush with little bumps on the ends. These bumps are used to penetrate into the muscle, making it feel better in the process.
You will also need candles, romantic music, and a towel, especially if you plan to make a night of it.
Tip #2 Men Love Receiving Presents
The holidays are truly a time for giving and receiving. This Christmas, give him a present he can use all year long. While this present could be anything from a vibrator to something that is used for anal play (such as beads or butt plugs), whatever you choose will be an excellent edition to the ending of a romantic night of fun.
You may even decide to leave presents around your bedroom for him to discover on his own. He will be delighted as he opens his sock drawer only to find a present from you. In fact, he will probably spend the whole day thinking about how he can use the present that evening when he is with you!
Tip #3 Men Love it when Women Dress Up for Them
One of the biggest things men love is receiving a gift you buy for yourself. Sure, the lingerie you purchase may be more a gift for you, but he will not see it that way. His mind will be elsewhere this season as he thinks about all of the ways he can get you out of the outfit. Of course, he will also be appreciating just how good you look in the lingerie to begin with!
When you are thinking about intimate presents you can give, during a romantic evening for him this Christmas, consider putting on a show for him. You do not have to strip. Perhaps you just want to have an evening fashion show with each outfit getting skimpier until you are wearing practically nothing. No matter what you decide, he will love it and love you for showing him all of the gifts you have bestowed upon him this holiday season.
When it comes to romancing him over the holidays, you just need to be creative. When you do, the unique present you give him, through a romantic evening, fashion show, or something else, will be well received. In fact, he may end up giving you your present early, just so he can relieve some of the moments he spent during his own romantic evening this Christmas.

In 2005, at the height of the Celtic Tiger boom, a new golf course opened in County Kildare. Moyvalley Golf and Country Club was a dazzling affair with a hotel and spa plus on-course houses available to buy or rent. Membership was pitched at a signing on fee of €75,000 with annual subs of €3,000. Initial take up was good but as the signs of a slowdown became evident, customers dried up. Today you can join Moyvalley for between €5,000 and €10,000 depending on your negotiating skills!
As recently as 18 months ago, the price of a four ball in The Old Head of Kinsale Golf Links was €1,100 when you included buggies. That’s €275 per head without food or refreshments. Four friends played it in September last for €70 each, including buggy and the club were glad to take their money. In the new golf scene in Ireland, the customer is king – and long live the king!
For if ever a hobby mirrored the worst excesses of the boom in Ireland it was golf. Since the late nineties, green fees at even the most humble of golf clubs have quadrupled. Similarly, the increase in membership fees went out of control. Back then, it seemed to be only a matter of building it, naming your price and they will come. But in the Ireland of 2010, they don’t come any more. Reality has taken a grip on the situation. We live in a society that has a deflation rate of 6% across a broad range of goods and services that comprise the cost of living index in Ireland. Golf green fees would form no part of that index but if they were examined, incredible reductions of 100% to1000% are evident across the island.
All across the country, members are leaving clubs in an effort to cut back on outgoings as the implementation of budget cuts hits home and uncertainty regarding jobs becomes the priority of people whose only previous concern was their handicap. Where once there was a waiting list to get into almost all Irish clubs, now you will be welcomed with open arms at considerably less than those who might be with you on the first tee paid. Many golf courses are on the brink of closure whilst many others have cut back on maintenance costs, which is not a good omen for the future quality of those courses.
However for the moment survival is what it is all about for these clubs and for those visitors coming to Ireland or Irish golfers travelling to other parts of the country, there is outstanding value to be had on the fairways of Ireland. Even those US and UK visitors who are suffering from the strong currency that is the Euro, the deals stack up as worthwhile. It makes 2010 the year to be considering a golfing holiday in Ireland.

Living with teenage, combination, acne-prone skin; And questions about Microdermabrasion.?
For years now, I’ve struggled with randomated dry patches, bumpy areas and uneven skin-tone scattered about my acne-prone skin.
Now, I’m trying to do something about it, but I need some advice.
My acne comes and goes ((it all depends on my stess-levels and what I’m wearing on my face)), but I’d like to know if there’s a pill or something else that can cure it from the inside.
Scrubs and washes with Salicylic Acid tend to overdry my face, and make it feel tight and look ashy. Even three step programs like ProActive have had this effect.
Any tips?
Also too, for the rough/dark/bumpy/liney patches and areas, I’ve heard Microdermabrasion is ideal. However, you can only get this done with the help of a plastic surgeon.
But! There are many scrub sets and the like around these days that promise the same results, within a few days ((even Mary Kay offers one)). Are these trustworthy, or should I just get the Microdermabrasion done?
Thanks!
You can get microdermabrasion done at almost any spa these days. You don’t have to go to a plastic surgeon. It may make your skin dry though. What I found that worked for me was Photo Rejuvenation. It actually makes the skin glow.
